Introduction to Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM)
This program supports students interested in several different STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) careers including biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and mathematics.
This 15-credit pathway is designed to give non-matriculated students a set of introductory level STEM college credits.
Pathway Requirements (listed in suggested course sequence):
- ENG 101: Composition (3 credits)
- MAT 122: Precalculus or higher course (4 credits)
Additionally, select one of the four pathway concentrations:
- BIO 117: This is Life! (4 credits), BIO 118: Animal Life* (2 credits), and BIO 119: Plant Life* (2 credits)
- CHY 101: General Chemistry I* (4 credits) and CHY 102: General Chemistry II* (4 credits)
- PHY 121: Physics for Engineers and Scientists I* (4 credits) and PHY 122: Physics for Engineers and Scientists II* (4 credits) (note: MAT 126 Calculus I is needed as a prerequisite but may be taken concurrently.)
- PHY 111: Physics I* (4 credits) and PHY 112: Physics II* (4 credits)
