Step 1: Activate your MaineStreet account

Students accepted to UMaine Machias should plan to regularly check their university email and MaineStreet portal. This is how you will receive important information from Admissions, Financial Aid, Housing, and other campus offices. You can find steps on how to activate your accounts on the Portal website.

Your activation information will be included in your acceptance packet that you receive in the mail.

Need help activating your account? Contact IT Support Services at 207.581.2506.

Step 2: Apply for Financial Aid

To be considered for financial aid, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). UMM applicants will use the University of Maine school code, 002053. Your Machias campus affiliation and degree program of choice will not change as a result of using the UMaine school code.

If you have questions about how to apply, please visit our financial aid website or contact the Office of Financial Aid at 207.255.1203.

Step 3: Confirm your enrollment with a deposit

Enrollment deposits are $50.

To reserve a spot and ensure that you can enroll in classes, we require accepted students to send a $50 deposit. There are several ways to confirm:

University of Maine
Office of Admissions

**Confirmation deposits for UMM are processed by UMaine**

  • Confirm by phone: Call the UMaine Machias Office of Admissions at 207-255-1318 to pay by phone using a credit card or to discuss concerns about paying your confirmation deposit.

Navigate is a free mobile app that will help you thrive at UMaine Machias. On Navigate you can view your class schedule, reminders, resources, and more at the push of a button! The Navigate app can be downloaded from the Apple Store and Google Play; just search for “Navigate Student.”

Step 6: Submit your immunization records

Maine state required immunizations are two MMR vaccinations and a Tdap in the last 10 years.

Students should upload copies of their state required immunization documents to our Point N Click website – you can access that through your portal

If you are unable to upload this documentation, you can send the records to:

Shared Processing Center
PO Box 412
Bangor ME 04402-0412
Fax: (207) 581-5451

Step 7: Submit your final transcripts

Whether you are currently attending high school, or transferring to UMM from another college, make sure that you’ve submitted a final copy of your academic transcript to the Admissions Office.

Step 8: Sign your Financial Responsibility Statement in MaineStreet

Login to your MaineStreet Student Portal and click the “Financial Terms and Conditions” link in the “To-Do List” box of your student center. All students must electronically sign the financial responsibility statement to remove the hold on their account. This must be done before you can enroll in classes so do it early!

Check your To-Do List in MaineStreet periodically after signing this statement — if there are any other holds on your account, you will be notified here.
