Wildlife Law Institutesponsored by the Recreation and Tourism Management program

This Wildlife Law Institute is designed to provide students with an orientation to law enforcement duties of various local, regional, state, and federal agencies.  Some of the activities may include a K-9 demonstration, overview of specialty teams (SCUBA, aircraft, search and rescue, and crime scene investigation), fish and wildlife identification, recreational vehicle safety, boating patrol techniques, and map and compass.  Mornings may include some “fit for duty” activities: sit-ups, 1 ½ mile run, etc.  Cost: $300. Scholarships are available!

Summer Institute Plus

Students interested in earning college credits have the option to enroll in an online course that will begin July 11. 

Wildlife Law Institute Plus Wildlife Law online:  Attend the Summer Institute plus take REM 211: Wildlife Law course online from July 11-August 22.  REM 211 focuses on fish and wildlife policy, law and law enforcement topics. It also familiarizes students with all the various forms of recreational hunting and fishing and the types of wildlife encountered in Maine. This course also focuses on the role that hunting and fishing play in conservation and wildlife management programs. Proper selection and use of the equipment and current safety programs are addressed.  3 credits.  In-State Cost: $375* plus textbook costs. Out-of-State Cost: $1800* plus textbook costs.  Scholarships are available!
