Environmental and Biological Sciences Division

University of Maine at Machias science majors get hands-on experience from day one. The Division of Environmental and Biological Sciences offers three majors: Marine Biology, Biology and Environmental Geographic Information Science, plus several minors and two certificates. All of our programs immerse students in real-world studies in the field, laboratory, hatchery and classroom.

Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies, housed under the Arts and Letters Division, allows students to choose a concentration. Each concentration is also housed under its own division. Concentrations housed under the Environmental and Biological Sciences Division include:

  • Allied Health
  • Aquaculture
  • Marine Biology

Certificates

The Environmental and Biological Sciences Division at the University of Maine at Machias offers two certificate programs:

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Applications (15-16 credits)
  • Advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Applications (24-25 credits)
