How to use MaineStreet

MaineStreet is an online tool that you will need for many functions within the university such as registering for classes, dropping classes, your class schedule and billing. Unless you’ve already done so, you will need to activate your UMS account first before you can access any University-related systems.

Note: If you have been using UMS Gmail (, MaineStreet or Blackboard, then your UMS account is active.

  • Activation Key – This is an alpha-numeric code also sent through the mail in a letter from the University.

If you do not know this information or did not receive this letter, please contact IT at the UMaine Machias Help Desk.
