Enrollment Deposit
Submitting your $50 enrollment deposit secures your space at UMaine Machias and initiates the class registration process. You can submit the deposit online using the “Pay My Deposit” link in your MaineStreet Student Center. For further information or assistance, please contact the Admissions Office at 207.255.1318 or ummadmissions@maine.edu.
University Online Accounts
It is very important for new students to activate and start using their online accounts, including their MaineStreet Student Portal and their maine.edu Gmail account. You must use these accounts to access important communications about registration, student financial aid and student billing. For detailed information on account activation, please visit our Student How-Tos page. You may also contact the IT Support Center via chat to troubleshoot any issues.
Financial Responsibility Statement
All new students are required to complete the Financial Responsibility Statement, located on the “To-Do List” in the MaineStreet Student Service Center. Course registration cannot be initiated until this has been completed. Navigate
Whether you’re overwhelmed by college or excited about what’s ahead, life is better when your to-dos are organized at your fingertips. Navigate is a free mobile app (a desktop version is also available) that will help you thrive at UMaine Machias. The Navigate app allows you to view your class schedule, make appointments with your advisor, see reminders and access resources at the push of a button! If you have a smart phone you can download from the App Store or Google Play to get started. Visit umaine.edu/navigate for more information.
Class Scheduling and Advising
We are here to help you get the schedule that ensures you will graduate on time! UMaine Machias is divided into three divisions: Arts and Letters, Environmental and Biological Sciences, and Professional Studies. After receiving your enrollment deposit, an advisor from your division will reach out to help you build a class schedule. If you’re not sure what division your major is under, visit the Academics site.
Advanced Placement and Transfer Credits
AP or Transfer Credits are evaluated and posted within the Transfer Credit Report on MaineStreet after students have been accepted. If you have any questions regarding Transfer Credits, please contact the Office of Student Records at ummreg@maine.edu.

Frequently Asked Questions
When can I see my class schedule?
If you have been in contact with UMaine Machias, paid the enrollment deposit and completed the Financial Responsibility Statement, your schedule should be viewable in MaineStreet.
How do I change my major?
Before the start of the fall semester, students may request to change their major through the Office of Student Records by submitting the Major Change Online Form. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Admissions Office at 207.255.1318 or ummadmissions@maine.edu. We encourage you to speak to your academic advisor if you are considering a change of major.
