How to use MaineStreet
MaineStreet is an online tool that you will need for many functions within the university such as registering for classes, dropping classes, your class schedule and billing. Unless you’ve already done so, you will need to activate your UMS account first before you can access any University-related systems.
Note: If you have been using UMS Gmail (@maine.edu), MaineStreet or Blackboard, then your UMS account is active.
Click here to visit the UMS account activation page
Needed for Account Activation:
- Identification Number – This is a 7-digit MaineStreet ID sent through the mail in a letter from the University.
- Activation Key – This is an alpha-numeric code also sent through the mail in a letter from the University.
If you do not know this information or did not receive this letter, please contact IT at the UMaine Machias Help Desk.
UMaine Machias Portal for your UMS Account
To access all the features of the UMS single-sign-on account, go to my.machias.edu and log in with your UMS account username and password.
Your login is the same for MaineStreet, Blackboard and your @maine.edu email account. It is usually your firstname.lastname (ex. john.doe). If you have lost or have not received this account information, please contact IT.
Your UMS Gmail email address (@maine.edu) is what the University will use to send you important information (such as notifications, billing and student records).
If your professor uses Blackboard, an online learning-management system, this is also included in the single sign on.
Once you have signed in, you will see icons for the various features and tools included in this single sign on. Students typically see icons for Blackboard, MaineStreet, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, PaperCut (printing service), Box (online storage), E2Campus (alerts service) and Clipper Card
