Bio
“Dr. Lori” came to Maine in 2007, after having previous teaching experiences at Vanderbilt University, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and the University of Louisville. She has worked as a professional school counselor and special education teacher and has counseled children at the Family Nurturing Center in Northern Kentucky.
Prior to joining the UMM faculty in 2013, she introduced an innovative distance learning model for practicum and internship supervision using Skype technology. She has edited two books about using videoconferencing, which is the primary focus of her scholarship work, and has published several journal articles and presented on the subject at several international conferences.
In her spare time, Dr. Lori enjoys participating in local choral groups, playing with the UMM Ukulele Club, crocheting shawls for shut-ins, connecting with friends and family, and spending time with her service dog, Princess.
