UMM to Host Spring Special Olympics Competition
Special Olympic competition in Washington County will begin at 9 a.m. May 5 on the University of Maine at Machias campus. This event will include games for the Athletes to participate in, a reception, awards ceremony, and a parade.
Special Olympics Maine’s mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy.
