Haunted Forest Returns to UMM

The University of Maine at Machias is hosting its annual Haunted Forest on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27 and 28. The event is sponsored by Dr. Karen Beeftink’s students in UMM’s Environment, Recreation and Tourism Management Program.
There will be two levels of “fright” offered. For the younger children, A Mad Science Extravaganza will be offered both nights from 6-7 p.m. for ages 4-10. There will be a short walk with hands-on activities, followed by a campfire by the pond with more activities.
For older children, the theme for this year’s Haunted Forest is “Purge 2016”. This is suggested for  ages 13 and up, and will take place from 7-8 p.m. on both evenings. The “fright” will take place on the trails at the UMM Recreational Forest.
