UMM to Host Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” Performance

The University of Maine at Machias will be hosting a Theater at Monmouth performance Shakespeare’s The Tempest at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, in the UMM Performing Arts Center. There is also a morning performance  for students only but the evening show is open to the public. UMM students are free and general admission ranges from $3 to $5.
Set during the golden age of sea exploration, The Tempest investigates individual freedom: our desire to achieve it, our struggle to preserve it, and ultimately, our forgiveness of those who have taken it from us.
The performance is part of the 2016 Shakespeare in Maine Communities Tour and is funded in part by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission.
