The residential program at UMM is designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment where students may live, study, socialize, learn and grow within a community of peers. Each resident is responsible for his/her own conduct and may live as he/she pleases as long as it does not interfere with the rights of others. The Residential Education staff is responsible for ensuring that the rights of residents and the property of the University are not abused. The following information is provided to inform and educate residential students about their rights and responsibilities within the residence halls. Residential students are expected to read and abide by these responsibilities. The Residential Education staff will assist with interpreting and understanding the responsibilities; but each resident should be aware that the rights and responsibilities are established to ensure a safe and cooperative environment for residents. Please refer to the University of Maine System Student Conduct Code for more information on prohibited activities.
