Library Computer Use

Internet Access

Access to the internet is available in the Library on library computers to students, faculty and staff with a valid UMS ID and password. There are two computers dedicated for public use, no ID or password required. Wi-Fi is available to anyone on their personal device via the MaineEDU-Guest network, again no login or password required. Students, faculty and staff of UMaine Machias have unlimited access via the eduroam network. We ask that the public limit their time on the library public computers to 30 minutes if there are others waiting.

Database Access

Access to the Library’s online databases is available onsite to anyone. Students, faculty and staff of UMaine Machias can also use these resources remotely from locations outside the library with a UMS ID and password.

Priority

Priority on the library computers is given to UMaine Machias students, faculty and staff working on class-related material. The Library reserves the right to limit or terminate other types of usage during high-traffic periods.

Appropriate Use

Please refer to the UMS IT Acceptable Use of Information Systems.
