Student Involvement

Empowering Students Through Engagement & Growth

Our mission is to provide students with co-curricular opportunities that facilitate a holistic approach to student learning and development through collaboration, inclusion and empowerment. Through excellence in both student and event services, we aim to offer transformational experiences while instilling values of civic responsibility, sustainability, and mutual respect for all.

Intramurals

The Intramural Program at UMaine Machias is designed to provide an opportunity for students to participate in organized recreational competition. The program allows students to practice good sportsmanship in a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes wellness, community, and competitive pride.

WUMM Radio

As a student run radio station, the focus of WUMM is to serve the musical interests of UMaine Machias students through a broadcasting radio station. Students are able and encouraged to DJ their own show in which they can spotlight their own musical tastes, or even host a radio talk show. WUMM also encourages UMaine Machias faculty and staff and citizens of Washington County to become active in the station. WUMM promotes campus and community organizations and events. When listening to WUMM, you’ll hear everything from folk to electronica, classic rock to jazz, and everything in between.
