Public input sought at strategic economic planning forum

The Maine Department of Economic and Community Development will lead a free public forum on regional economic planning at the University of Maine at Machias on Thursday, June 27, 46 p.m., in Room 102 of the Science Building. For more information or to request a reasonable accommodation, call 255.1200.

The Administration of Governor Janet Mills has announced plans to create a formal ten-year economic development plan for the State of Maine, with a particular focus on revitalizing rural economies. Participants in the open forum will be invited to provide input on strategies to enhance growth in the region, empower entrepreneurs and small business owners and address Maine’s workforce challenges.

The event is the last in a series held throughout Maine this week to kick off the new initiative. To view a schedule online, visit maine.gov/decd/programs/strategic-plan.
