The University of Maine at Machias will hold its annual Honors Convocation ceremony on Wednesday, April 24, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m in the Performing Arts Center. The ceremony is free and open to the public. It will kick off Celebrate UMM Days, two weeks of free public events celebrating student achievements and community partnerships. The Honors Convocation ceremony is UMM’s most significant academic tradition, where a mix of scholarships and awards are presented to students in recognition of their achievements over the academic year. Over $78,000 in scholarships and awards will be presented at this year’s ceremony, which will open with remarks from President Joan Ferrini-Mundy and feature a speech from the 2019 Ivy Orator, graduating senior Colleen Kostovick.
