New UMaine Machias project will make Maine coastal fisheries data publicly accessible
For years valuable coastal fisheries data on soft-shell clam recruitment and invasive green crabs, collected by Maine’s shoreline communities, has been difficult to access or unavailable to the public. Now, a new collaborative project is changing that by developing an interactive, publicly accessible platform that brings decades of long-term ecological information together in one searchable web tool, helping clammers, educators and policymakers make better-informed decisions.
