Students film professional documentaries in UMaine Machias course 

The Down East Documentary film class isn’t just about learning to point a camera. Our students are producing documentaries that have aired on PBS, also being featured at national festivals. Guided by lecturer Alan Kryszak, this group of around 10 students rotates through all phases of professional production. From directing and sound to editing and location shoots, they are building real-world skills, credits, and portfolios.
