Homecoming and Family Weekend set for Oct. 4–6

The University of Maine at Machias will celebrate Homecoming and Family Weekend with campus events Friday through Sunday, Oct 4–6.

The celebration of community and tradition at UMM will kick off with a dinner at 4 p.m., followed by a DIY craft activity at 6 p.m. in Kilburn Commons. A talent show featuring UMM students, faculty, staff and alumni will begin at 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.

Other highlights of the weekend will include craft activities and kids’ games on the campus mall from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, and an alumni basketball competition at 4 p.m. in the Reynolds Center Gymnasium, followed by the induction of Mike Merritt, UMM class of 1971, into the Clipper Hall of Fame.

The weekend will conclude with a brunch in Kilburn Commons from 10 a.m. –1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 and back-to-back Clippers games from noon to 4 p.m.
