Film and discussion about women’s suffrage movement
The University of Maine at Machias will present a screening of the American historical drama “Iron Jawed Angels” on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. Based on actual events, this film tells the epic story of the passionate young suffragettes who fought for women’s right to vote in the early 20th century.
The screening will be held in Room 102 of UMM’s Science Building and is free and open to the public. Associate Professor of History Kay Kimball will be present to answer questions and facilitate discussion. Voter registration will be available on-site.
