Two-Author Reading on Sep. 29, 4 pm

University of Maine at Machias will host two authors, Meagan Cass and Erin Smith. for a reading on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at 4 pm in Merrill Library.  The event is free and open to the public. Both authors will read for approximately 20 minutes and will have copies of their works available for sale. The library will provide light refreshments.

Erin Elizabeth Smith is the Creative Director at the Sundress Academy for the Arts and the Managing Editor of Sundress Publications and The Wardrobe. She is the author of two full-length collections and the editor of two anthologies. Her poems have appeared in numerous journals. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi and teaches in the English Department at the University of Tennessee, where she is also the Jack E. Reese Writer in the Library.

Meagan Cass’s first full-length collection, ActivAmerica, won the Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Short Fiction and is forthcoming from UNT Press. She is author of the chapbook Range of Motion.  She is an associate professor of English at the University of Illinois Springfield, where she curates the Shelterbelt reading series and is an editor for Shelterbelt Press. She lives in St. Louis.
