Campus Safety
Creating a safe experience
UMaine Machias’ beautiful Down East Maine location plays a large role in the college experience, both in and outside of the classroom. No snarled traffic, no crowd. Although both the town and campus are very safe, we know that crime can happen anywhere. Our campus has a dedicated law enforcement specialist from the University of Maine Police Department assigned to address any needs that may arise. Our law enforcement specialist works hand and hand with the Office of Student Life and Residence Life staff to create a safe and secure campus learning and living environment. In addition, we maintain a close partnership with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe campus community.
