Board of Visitors

The UMM Board of Visitors was created by the University of Maine System Board of Trustees to advocate and raise private funds for the University, advise the President on community and regional needs, review new academic programs and tuition waivers, and to submit an annual report of its activities to the Board of Trustees.

Members are recommended by the President and are drawn from the local community external to the University.  The regular term of appointment is three years with a maximum of two terms.
