The University of Maine at Machias has hired three new coaches. Athletic Director Nick Cowell announced Betty J. Marshall as head coach of the women’s soccer team; Amy Fritz as head of the volleyball team; and Joseph Tibbs as coach of the men’s soccer team.
Cowell said Marshall brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her service in the Air Force and coaching soccer in Germany. Fritz has led the Lady Clippers to success in the past. She led the team to multiple conference championship games, winning the YSCC Volleyball Championship in 2012.
Tibbs comes to UMM from Southern Virginia University with a wealth of experience, Cowell said. He has coached at universities around the country at the Division I, II, III and club levels.
“We are excited to have our new coaches on board, and know that they will be great assets in ensuring student-athlete success both on the field and in the classroom,” Cowell added.
