E2111 – A Nepal Travelogue

with Peter Duston

Free Register

This is a heart-warming story about a mountain-climbing trip to Nepal that started out as a once-in-a-life-time adventure and ended up as a mission to change the life of a 13-year-old Nepali girl.  Beautiful photography of the Himalaya and the people of that region await you in this course.

Instructor:  Peter Duston was a history teacher, college counselor and ski coach.  He grew up hiking, back packing and skiing.  He has skied from the summit of Mt. Washington, NH, from the summit glacier of Mt. Hood, Oregon, and the European Alps.  He through-hiked the 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail as “Talkerman” at age 69.  As a 14-year-old Explorer Scout, he followed the conquests of all the world’s highest mountains in Nepal and Tibet and still has his scrapbooks from that time.  His dream was always to climb Mt. Everest.  Finally, Peter had the opportunity to visit Nepal and embark on a trekking trip to Everest Base Camp to at least “touch” Mt. Everest.  He still serves as a Scout leader introducing local boys and girls to confidence building adventure.
