UMM\u2019s Psychology and Community Studies program is featured on the\u00a0American Association of Colleges & Universities\u00a0website alongside eight other\u00a0academic\u00a0departments\u00a0a<\/span>cross the country that have \u201ccrafted hands-on, project-based learning requirements that tackle public problems in concert with others.\u201d Because of the innovative, successful way that our Psychology and Community Studies program has included civic and community engagement, the program was included in the review as an exemplar of ways that \u201cdepartments can use civic engagement lenses not only to enrich learning but also to strengthen students\u2019 senses of personal and social responsibility.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
