As a result of this agreement, we have ended our relationship with Symantec for Endpoint Protection. \u00a0<b><i>You will need to install Microsoft\u2019s antivirus software \u00a0to keep your devices safe and secure<\/i><\/b>. Your current installation is providing protection for your device, but will no longer be obtaining virus definition updates and will become much less effective over time as a result.<\/p>\n<p>The link to download the Microsoft SECP ( System Center Endpoint Protection) software is available on the UMaine IT website at this <a href=\"https:\/\/umservices.umaine.edu\/software\/antivirus\/index.cgi\">anti-virus software page<\/a>. \u00a0On this page, there are links for installation downloads for Mac, Windows and Linux. The installer also removes most common AV software such as Symantec, McAfee and Trend Micro if it detects them. \u00a0The current Mac version available for download only supports Mac OSX versions 10.6 to 10.10. We are working to obtain an updated version for newer versions of OSX.
