It is charged with the responsibility of receiving recommendations, reviewing criteria and recommending to the President, candidates for honorary degrees. Upon approval by the President, the candidates are recommended to the Board of Trustees for final approval. The Committee also considers candidates for distinguished awards. The Committee can recommend candidates for Distinguished Scholar Awards, Distinguished Service Awards, and Distinguished Achievement Awards.
