The University of Maine at Machias Press publishes literature and artist’s books from the region. The Press is operated as part of the English, Creative Writing, and Book Arts Program. Through generous support from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation and other donors, the Press was established in 2006. The Library of Early Maine Literature is a scholarly imprint of the University of Maine at Machias Press. The mission of the series is to reissue rare and important works of Maine literature written before 1900 in beautiful, high quality editions that contain full supporting materials. As a student in the English, Creative Writing, & Book Arts Program, you will be working directly for the press.
The Bad Little Journal is a student-run online literary publication, created by ECB students during the spring 2018 semester. This journal was created by students to provide ways for aspiring writers of all majors to showcase their work publicly. The journal publishes literary works of all genres, including short stories, poetry, creative nonfiction, and experimental works. Any students at UMM can be involved with the publication process of the journal through this student club. Please click on the link below to read the most recent issue.
