Programs at the University of Maine at Machias are approved by the State Approving Agency for Veterans' Education Programs for the education and training of veterans, servicemen, and dependents of disabled and deceased veterans. Students who expect to receive benefits should contact the nearest VA Regional Office or the UMM Registar's Office for information concerning eligibility, counseling and other benefits.
New students must submit either their Certificate of Eligibility, Application for VA Benefits (VA Form 22-1990) or Request for Change of Program or Place of Training (VA Form 22-1995) to the Registrar's Office before their enrollment may be certified. Students who are eligible for VA benefits are responsible for paying their own tuition and fees with the exception of disabled veterans under Vocational Rehabilitation. Deferment of fees for students eligible for VA benefits may be possible subject to arrangements with the UMM Business Office.
