USM, UMM Enrolling Students for Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling Program
November 15th Application Deadline for Machias Cohort
MACHIAS, Maine – The University of Southern Maine, in collaboration with the University of Maine at Machias, is currently enrolling students for its 54-credit graduate degree in rehabilitation counseling. The Machias cohort will begin coursework in summer 2013.
The program allows Washington and Hancock County students to obtain a master’s degree in counseling through a combination of distance education technologies and three in-person classes held in Machias. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a Master of Science in Counseling from USM.
The program is nationally accredited through the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) and students who complete the three-and-a-half-year program will be eligible for national certification as a rehabilitation counselor. With two additional courses, students will also be eligible for state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).

In addition, UMM is offering the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) at 4 p.m. on Monday, October 22 for students who are planning to apply to graduate school. Administration of the test costs $50 and official results will be mailed to selected graduate schools within 10 to 15 days.
