Fitness Challenge II
April 7th-May 2nd
The UMM Fitness Challenge is a 4 week wellness competition designed to empower you to make healthy lifestyle changes and take your fitness to new heights. Participants will work in pairs, track health habits, and compete for the title of UMM Fitness Challenge Champion!
You can have a partner of choice or have us find you one! When you sign up you will choose to be in the Clipper Novice group or the Clipper Captain group (details are below). You will be given a health goal to focus on and document progress for each of the 4 weeks.
They consist of:
Week 1: daily water intake
Week 2: hours of sleep per night
Week 3: servings of vegetables per day
Week 4: minutes of physical activity per day.
Pairs in this group will perform 4 exercises each week, with each partner doing 2 of the 4. The exercises are the plank, push-ups, squats, and a wall sit. The plank and wall sit will be done for time, while push-ups and squats will be recorded as how many are done correctly in 1 minute. The goal is to improve upon your starting point…you are competing against yourself to improve your fitness level!
Pairs in this group are competing against other teams to perform the most reps of the following exercises in 1 minute: Push Ups, Pull Ups, 18 inch Box Jumps, and Burpies! Each partner does 2 of the 4 exercises. Once sign-ups are done it will be determined if there is a need to split groups up by category (male, female, combined).
*Each contestant will receive a t-shirt when signing up. Contestants will be checking in with Leigh Ann each week. This has to be a pre-determined time so that she can administer the fitness challenge portion of the contest.
For everyone who completes the weekly challenge and records their progress for the weekly health goal, a name will be drawn to win a prize!
