Learn what dementia is, what it isn’t, and how it impacts a person and their ability to communicate and function. Dementia Care This workshop will give you a better understanding of what dementia is, increase your skills in caring for your loved ones with dementia, and help you improve self-care skills in order to improve your care recipient's quality of life ("contented involvement).

Hands-on Care Techniques In this workshop Sandy will demonstrate safety around transfers, using wheelchairs, regular and 3-prong canes, walkers, gait belts and commodes; proper lift techniques; making occupied and unoccupied beds using linens and chucks; basic hygiene; and prevention and care of bedsores.
A resource fair will highlight the work of area agencies and the resources that are available to caregivers.
