UMM to Host Legislative Candidates

Machias, ME - The University of Maine at Machias will host a legislative candidates forum for area races on Thursday Oct. 16th at 6:30 PM in Portside located in Kimball Hall. Students in the American Government class will question the candidates and the forum will include an opportunity for the audience to query the candidates.

Invited candidates include incumbent Kevin Raye (R-Perry) and challengers Karen Johnson (D-Machias) and Dana Kadey (I-Princeton) in State Senate District 29 (Washington County and parts of Hancock and Penobscot), incumbent Howard McFadden (R-Dennysville) and challenger Dennis Mahar (D-Pembroke) in House District 30 (East Machias, Franklin, Jonesboro, Marshfield, Aurora, Pembroke, Edmunds, Mariaville, Northfield, Cooper), David Burns (R-Whiting) and Katherine Cassidy (D-Machias) in House District 32 (Eastport, Lubec, Trescott, Cutler, Machiasport, Machias, Roque Bluffs), and Marie Emerson (D-Addison) and Diane Tilton (R-Harrington) in House District 33 (Milbridge, Cherryfield, Jonesport, Beals).
