UMM Summer Session Offers More Than 50 Courses

Professor Doug McNaught teaches a class outside on the UMM campusMACHIAS, Maine – Students can choose from more than 50 courses being offered at the University of Maine at Machias this summer. The wide variety of online and on-site courses provide current students an opportunity to get ahead with their studies, while prospective students and the general public can earn academic credit during the summer.

Registration is now open for the summer courses, which will run between May 29 and August 17. Many of the courses are organized into two sessions, May 29– July 6 and July 9–August 17, while some will run the full length of the summer term.

UMM will offer courses in the following subject areas: accounting, anthropology, art, biology, business, community studies, dance, education, English, environmental studies, geography, history, humanities, management, marketing, philosophy, physical education, psychology, special education, sociology, and women's studies. Summer course highlights include Beginning Belly Dance, Digital Media, Fencing, Papermaking, Maine and Local History, and QuickBooks Accounting, among others.

Enrollment in UMM’s summer courses is open to both current students and the public.
