UMM Plans Adventure Trip to Patagonia; Info Session May 1st
MACHIAS, Maine – The Environmental Recreation and Tourism Management program at the University of Maine at Machias has organized a field class to Patagonia in January 2013. An informational session on the course and trip is scheduled for 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, in the Reynolds Center, room 14.
The class will meet once a week throughout the fall semester, with the main course running January 3–19, 2013. Class participants will travel to the Aysen region of Chile, Patagonia to engage in outdoor adventure activities, experience Patagonian culture, and learn about nature-based tourism and sustainable development.
The three-credit course is open to all students, regardless of academic major, and fulfills the Global Perspectives core learning requirement. The course number is REM 210.
