Nov. 11 Jam Session at UMM in Memory of Washington County Musicians

Musicians perform in 2005 at a jam in memory of Johnny JohnsonMACHIAS, Maine – The Interdisciplinary Fine Arts program at the University of Maine at Machias will host a memorial Pajama Jam at 10 p.m. on Friday, November 11 in the Performing Arts Center. The event is a tribute to late Washington County musicians Johnny Johnson of Calais and Ian Parker of Machias.

Johnson taught music and Parker studied at UMM, and their songwriting, guitar playing, and general musicianship are legendary.

The jam session will begin at 10 p.m., with a break at 11:11 p.m. for a showing of the film This is Spinal Tap. After the film, jamming will resume on into November 12, the 10th anniversary of Johnson’s passing.
