UMM Hires New Dean of Enrollment Management

Michael MattisonMACHIAS, Maine – The University of Maine at Machias has announced that Michael Mattison of Sebring, Florida, has been hired as the University’s new dean of enrollment management.

“Michael brings a wealth of marketing and recruitment experience in private education and the corporate sector to this position,” said President Cynthia Huggins. “He was selected from a strong pool of applicants following a national search, and he comes to us with an impressive record of results. I look forward to seeing his enrollment strategies put to work at UMM.”

Mattison comes to UMM from Webber International University, where he has served as director of admissions since 2010, and earlier in his career from 1991 – 2000. Prior to his most recent time at Webber, Mattison served as dean of enrollment services at West Virginia University Institute of Technology.

In addition to his experience in higher education recruitment, Mattison has served as vice president of marketing at Netpads, Inc., director of business development at the Apollo Group, academic dean at Florida Metropolitan University, and community relations manger and director of career services at Devry Institute of Technology. He also operates Mattison Training Group, a family business that specializes in corporate solutions, training, and managerial consulting.

I have many plans for promoting this university and look forward to getting started.”

Mattison holds a master’s degree in marketing from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree in business/marketing from Webber International University.

As dean of enrollment management, Mattison will provide strategic leadership and management for all aspects of UMM’s comprehensive admissions program.

Mattison will begin his duties at UMM in October.
