UMaine Symphonic Band Concert

3 Concert Bands Combining for a Free Mega-Concert at UMM on April 3rd
The highly regarded UMaine Orono Symphonic Band under the direction of Professor Christopher White will be touring Washington County and are eager to showcase their efforts in a free concert Wednesday April 3rd at 7:00 at the UMM Performing Arts Center. The group will be performing a variety of music, including the very popular Concerto for Electric Guitar and a wonderful mix of other traditional and newly composed music. The auditioned group is made up of a majority of majors from UMaine's Fine Arts Program and features a well polished group of young men and women. Jonesboro's own Chris Plaisted is among one of the many talented members of this prestigious ensemble.
The UMaine Band will be joined by the UMM Town Band (led by Gene Nichols) and the students from Rose M. Gaffney and Machias Memorial High School's Grades 7-12 Band (led by Bonnie Atkinson) for a mega-finale to the show. Any and all are welcome for this great musical start to Spring!
