Machias Valley Run

The Machias Valley Run, held Saturday, April 21, will feature a morning of half-marathon, five-mile, and one-mile road races. The event is organized by the UMM's Environmental Recreation and Tourism Management program.

Registration for the half-marathon will take place at 8 a.m. in UMM’s Reynolds Center Gymnasium, with a 9 a.m. start at the bottom of College Hill in Machias. The race ends at Roque Bluffs State Park. Registration is $15 for the public or free for UMM students.

The five-mile run starts and ends at Roque Bluffs State Park. Registration is at 9 a.m. at the Roque Bluffs Community Center, and is $10 for the public or free for UMM students. The race starts at 10 a.m.

The one-mile fun run will take place in Roque Bluffs, starting at the end of the Schoppee Point Road and finishing at Roque Bluffs State Park. Registration is at 9 a.m. at the Roque Bluffs Community Center, and is $2 per participant. The race starts at 10 a.m.

The UMM soccer team will be selling food as a fundraiser. Registered runners will receive a free meal.

Community partners for the Machias Valley Run include Roque Bluffs State Park, the Town of Roque Bluffs, and the Machias and Roque Bluffs fire departments.
