Senator Dill to Speak at UMM on Proposed National Park
MACHIAS, Maine – State Senator Cynthia Dill (D-Cape Elizabeth) will speak in favor of a Maine Woods National Park during a presentation at the University of Maine at Machias on Wednesday, January 25. Her talk will take place at 7 p.m. in the Portside room of Kimball Hall.
Senator Dill is the founder of Friends of the Maine Woods, an advocacy group formed with the purpose of educating communities about the economic, environmental, and social benefits of public land stewardship, and to support the study and creation of the Maine Woods National Park.
The talk is free and open to the public and will also be streamed live on the UMM Web site at www.machias.edu. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion following the presentation. An opponent of the national park proposal is also being scheduled for later in the spring semester.
