Paintings by New York Artist on Display Through Sept. 30
MACHIAS, Maine – The Art Galleries at the University of Maine at Machias will display the paintings of New York artist Alison Weld in an exhibit titled “A Necessary Convergence,” August 31 through September 30.
Weld’s work has been exhibited extensively within the United States, including solo and group exhibitions at Robert Steele Gallery, Jersey City Museum, Springfield Museum of Art, Pacifico Fine Art, the Art Museum at the University of Memphis, and the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art. Her artworks are part of many public collections, including the Art Museum at the University of Memphis, New Mexico State University, Everson Museum of Art, Radford University Museum of Art, Kresge Art Museum at Michigan State University, and the New Jersey State Museum.
Weld holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Chicago and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alfred University.
