Gardening Expert Roger Doiron to Speak at UMM
MACHIAS, Maine – The University of Maine at Machias will host guest speaker Roger Doiron, garden writer and founder of Kitchen Gardeners International, for a presentation on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. The talk is part of the Four Seasons of Food and Community lecture and workshop series.

UMM Receives NEH Grant to Examine Humans and Nature
MACHIAS, Maine – The University of Maine at Machias has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Enduring Questions Program to develop a course exploring the relationship between humans and nature.

Fifth Annual Rainbow Ball Alternative Prom Planned at UMM
MACHIAS, Maine – More than 130 youth and their supporters are expected to attend the 5th Annual Rainbow Ball Weekend, held April 13–15 at the University of Maine at Machias. The weekend of events will include educational workshops, a highlighter party, a drag show competition, an admissions campus preview, and the Rainbow Ball prom.

UMM Students to Present Research at State House on Friday
MACHIAS, Maine – Three University of Maine at Machias students will take part in Undergraduate Research Day at the State House in Augusta on Friday. The UMM students will join undergraduates from all seven campuses of the University of Maine System at the event, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hall of Flags.
