New Music Improvisation Course Offered for Spring

Added on: December 09, 2011

Duane Ingalls and Gene NicholsUMM’s Interdisciplinary Fine Arts program has announced a new one-credit music improvisation course being offered during the spring semester.

Intermedia Improvisation (MUS I07) is a unique class that involves all forms of artistic and creative production in an ensemble workshop atmosphere. The group was performing during most of the 1990’s, first as a gathering of creative friends called “Les Trois Etoiles,” and then as a class, and has performed at concerts, weddings, and festivals.

Instructor Duane Ingalls, who has worked in numerous musical and theatre projects on the east and west coasts, welcomes anyone to join the group for creative work and play.

The spring semester begins January 18, 2012, and Intermedia Improvisation will meet Fridays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. For more information on registering for spring semester courses, call 255-1470 or visit www.machias.edu/courses_and_registration.
