MaineStreet 9.0 Upgrade
June 2 – 7, 2011
MaineStreet, the University of Maine System's online resource center for students, faculty, and staff, is being upgraded to version 9.0. This Web site was created to provide more information regarding the upgrade, and its impact on the UMM campus community.
MaineStreet will be temporarily unavailable from June 2nd at 5 p.m. through 7th at 8 a.m. The system should be back up and running for all users by 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7th.
How Will The Upgrade Affect Me?
Areas where faculty, students, and staff will see changes include registration, advising, student billing, degree audit reports, and overall navigation within MaineStreet.
Navigation
The left-hand menu is going away and will be replaced by “floating” menus, over which the user will “hover” to see additional menu choices....OR…the user can select from the first menu and wait for the menu icons to display in the center of the page.
The user will also be able to see a different set of menus by selecting a previous menu item from the “breadcrumbs” along the top of the screen.
Admissions
Other than an improved navigation, there will be no noticeable changes to reviewing your admission application status in MaineStreet.
Advising
Advisors and students will notice a change in the way Degree Audits are displayed in MaineStreet. Detail on the audit can be hidden or expanded, and additional information accessed about courses taken.
Academic information will also be easier for students to access from their Student Centers, with a link called “My Academics,” from which they can access a Degree Audit, Unofficial Transcript, Program/Plan and advisor information.
Registration
The layout of the registration screens students use to register will be different, making it easier for students to search for classes and complete the enrollment process.
Financial Aid
There will be minor changes to reporting financial aid received from outside sources and the loan counseling option will be enhanced.
