Juried Student Art Show Accepting Submissions

The Interdisciplinary Fine Arts program has announced that it is accepting submissions for the 2012 Juried Student Art Show. The selected works will be displayed April 6–20 in the UMM Art Galleries.

Submission Requirements:
All student artwork completed during the past year in any of the ART or IFA courses. This includes: Painting, drawing, sculpture, prints, book arts, photography, video, interdisciplinary integration of media, and graphic design.

Entry deadline:
April 4, 2012 – please bring work to room 209 in Powers Hall.

Submitting work:
All original artwork submitted to the jurors should be ready for hanging or presentation in a gallery setting.

Paintings and other framed pieces should have hanging wires or other hanging devices on them. Sculptures should have instructions for presentation. Drawings, prints, graphic design work, and photographs should be matted or mounted on mat board with a foam core backing.

The jurors will consider the overall submission and presentation for inclusion in the show. Video work should be presented through arranged electronic means.

Jurors:
Susan Hammond – Painter, M.F.A. University of Alabama
Hillary Savage – B.A. IFA University of Maine at Machias

Awards:
Jurors will assign Best of Show, The Greg Henderson award for painting, and the IFA award for interdisciplinary work.

Freshman students who submit work will be eligible for the Chenowyth Hall art scholarship to be given out at Honors Convocation.
