To: Graduating Seniors

From: Christopher Zukas, Director of Campus Activities

Let me first say congratulations on making it to this point; we are now 79 days away from commencement!  I wanted to take this time to send you some details that will be important to making the celebrations and ceremonies unique to the Class of 2013.  For some of you this information will be new and others it will be review but in greater detail.

If you are a student interested in serving as a senior class representative please contact Michael May at  Class representatives are responsible for working with Michael to prepare and execute some of the more detailed aspects of commencement activities and celebrations.

Commencement is a time of great celebration and often a time that recognizes many in the campus community.  One of the traditions of UMM is to select individuals for the following:

- Ivy Orator

- Frederic Reynolds Faculty Award

- Unsung Hero Award

- Class Marshall

- Commencement Musician

Details for the above honors and other senior celebrations are available here and in the survey monkey link below.  We are looking for the senior class to submit their nominations for each.  Nominations are now open and will close on March 7th.  A follow up email to vote on all nominations will be sent out at that time.

The senior class is also charged with selecting a Senior Class Gift to UMM.  This gift is around $1000.00 in value and nominations are also to be entered into the survey below.
