Holsapple Named Student Success Coordinator

Machias, ME – Matthew Holsapple has been named the Student Success Coordinator at the University of Maine at Machias. Holsapple began his duties in Machias on September 22.

“Our programs and services are designed to promote each student’s educational and professional success”, said Stuart Swain, UMM’s Vice President of Academic Affairs. “Matthew brings tremendous experience and dedication to assisting students in reaching their goals. I am very excited to have him join our student support team.”

Holsapple comes to U Maine Machias from Southern Maine Community College, where he worked in the Enrollment Services Department handling admissions and first-year advising. Prior to his work at SMCC, he was an Admissions Counselor and an Academic Advisor at Andover College in Lewiston, ME.

“I am very excited about this opportunity to work with UMM”, said Holsapple. “As someone who has lived all over but always been a Mainer at heart, I am tremendously pleased to be joining this vibrant Downeast learning community.”

Holsapple is a 2004 graduate of the University of Maine, where he received his bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing.

In addition to the office of student success, the UMM Student Support Center, with a staff of six, includes a study center with free tutoring services and learning resources; career planning and job placement support; personal counseling; and accommodations for students with need for specific educational supports.
