2012 Annual Fund
You Can Make a Difference by Participating in the UMM Annual Fund.
The University of Maine at Machias is truly an engaging place. Each day, our students are stepping outside of the classroom to gain real-world experience while providing invaluable assistance to organizations in the surrounding community.
Students in Tora Johnson’s Geographic Information Systems courses are working with local land trusts to map precious resources like vital habitat, working farms and waterfront, and scenic vistas in Downeast Maine. Every year, Dr. Gayle Kraus and her marine biology students help fisheries biologists tag landlocked salmon at the Grand Lake Stream Fish Hatchery. Psychology students recently coordinated several fundraisers for local community organizations, including the Next Step Domestic Violence Project and the Washington County Food and Fuel Alliance. These are just a few of the many examples of UMM students making a difference in the lives of others while gaining a one-of-a-kind education on the coast of Maine.
Please consider making a gift to the UMM Annual Fund today. Your gift will ensure that students continue to receive the financial support they need and the University can continue to provide a unique Environmental Liberal Arts education for future generations.
Thank you for your support!
