Hours of Operation

The Fitness Center hours of operation are based on the academic schedule of the University of Maine at Machias. Full operational hours are in effect during the fall and spring semesters. Reduced hours of operation are in effect during University breaks. Please refer to the appropriate calendar below for the current facility, pool, and gymnasium hours. The Fitness Center typically closes the week between Christmas and New Years, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Easter, Commencement Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend, and July 4th. Please remember, all schedules are subject to change without advance notice.

Inclement Weather Policies

Academic Session:  The Fitness Center will not close or delay opening during academic sessions due to inclement weather. If the University of Maine at Machias closes due to inclement weather all programs and services, e.g. group fitness classes, personal training sessions, swim lesson, will be cancelled.

Non-Academic Session:  The Fitness Center may close or delay opening due to inclement weather.

Pool Lightning Policy:  The Pool will close if lighting is observed in the area and will re-open 30 minutes after the last observed incidence of lightning.
